Old masks reborn!

Of course we are famous for masks (hoods) and we will be making them again.

We won’t be making any of the old designs, but we will try to preserve the look and feel of the favorite styles in our new designs. The new masks will be available in a wide variety of sizes and will use zipper closures instead of lacing.

A lot of the effort behind restarting production has been developing a practical way to make molds in multiple sizes economically. We believe we have finally solved this problem. Like the old designs, the new products will be molded of heavy natural rubber. Black will be the only color for now, but eventually red and white are likely to appear.

We have a lot of work to do before we are ready to sell the first mask and we aren’t ready to commit to a first ship date. We can say that we hope to get there by the first week of June.

We are not taking deposits and don’t intend to. One reason for this is that all sizes will not be available when production begins. Orders for a particular size of a given model of mask will be taken only when that mold is ready for production.

We are also planning to supply a variety of glove styles in both lighter weights (1mm thick or less) and heavy to very heavy weights (up to 3mm). We are looking at gauntlets as well as elbow and shoulder lengths. These will sell at competitive prices. We are partially automating glove making to achieve this.

Thats all we are ready to say concerning the product line, but that’s not all we’re planning!

One last hint: We are experimenting with some of the new synthetic rubbers to create products that can’t be practically produced in natural rubber. This looks very exciting, but that’s all we can say for now.
